Guwa'zee Hau ba. Tiimaits'a eese. Kuhaya hanu sda. Yaaka k'uuchini waisht'i sda. My name is MaryHelen Juanico from the Pueblo of Acoma. I am nineteen years old and a Native American from the Pueblo of Acoma. I come from the Bear Clan, which I inherited from my mother based on our matriarchal customs. Also, I am a child of the Yellow Corn Clan which I inherited from my father.    

                                  

MaryHelen Juanico is a 2007 graduate of Grants High School and currently a full-time student attending New Mexico State University in Grants, New Mexico, majoring in Business Management.

 MaryHelen Juanico was also awarded "Miss Photogenic" and "Miss Congeniality during the 2008 Miss Indian New Mexico Pageant. Miss Jaunico is the fourth from Acoma Pueblo to hold the title of "Miss Indian New Mexico".

Miss Sharmarine Light of the Navajo Nation from Farmington, New Mexico was awarded 1st Runner-Up.

Miss Tracey Charlie of Acoma Pueblo from McCartys Village, New Mexico was awarded 2nd Runner-up.

Thank you to these young Native American women for competing in the 2008 Miss Indian New Mexico Pageant.
